Volunteer

Do you want to make a real difference to people’s lives and have a positive impact on your community?  Come along and volunteer with Citizens Advice Sefton!

A team of 10 volunteers are urgently needed to support our advice service in Bootle Goddard Hall.  We are looking for volunteers who can contribute

6 – 8 hours each week.  Volunteers will offer advice, including benefits, debts, employment and housing, to people in person and over the phone.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, including Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) LGBT+ , non-binary and people with disabilities.

You do not need any specific qualifications, but you will need to have basic IT skills, be friendly and approachable, be a good listener, and have a respect for views, values and cultures that are different from your own.

A free and thorough programme of training for the role will be provided, where you will be supported by an experienced trainer and mentored by existing staff and volunteers.  You will learn about people’s rights and entitlements, and then when you have this knowledge you can help yourself too.

To find out more, please email Linda Jones at linda.jones@seftoncab.org.uk or by telephone on 07946285019.

All training and support is provided by us for free. If you want to make a positive difference for local people in your communities and want to use your skills and learn new ones then please get in touch with Linda Jones
