Mind and Money Keyworker 35 hours: job share considered

We are looking for an experienced adviser to join our existing team of passionate and dedicated advisers, caseworkers and financial capability workers to help people in Sefton with the problems they face.
The cost-of-living crisis is biting hard for many people in Sefton and demand for our advice services is rising, and people seeking training or work or with poor health need encouragement to ask for help in navigating the benefits system, or deal with money worries. We are looking for a Mind and Money Keyworker to provide a general advice service to members of the public; however, welfare benefits and debt are the dominant areas of advice needed. You will play a crucial role in improving the financial wellbeing of clients by ensuring they receive the correct welfare benefits, identifying and making grant and trust fund applications, and advising on income maximisation options.
This is a genuine opportunity to join a passionate and dedicated high-performing team of advisers, caseworkers and money advisors to help people in Sefton with the problems they face, particularly with Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment, better off calculations and other welfare benefits and debt. 92% of our clients agree or strongly agree they would recommend our advice service to other people.
You will have a thorough understanding of the issues involved in interviewing and working with clients, and in particular vulnerable people, with excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and our partners.
Empowering clients to understand and manage their situation is key, as is working with partner agencies and organisations to broaden access to our services and ensure holistic support. Your involvement will also extend to advocating for change based on client experiences and actively participating in the evolution of our services to meet emerging needs. Through your efforts, you will not only assist individuals in immediate need but also contribute to broader systemic improvements, enhancing our advice services for the future.
Salary £26,335 (pro-rata if part time)
Hours 35 hours (job-share considered)
Contract type: Fixed term to March 2025 (subject to continuation funding)
Annual Leave: 28 days plus Bank Holidays (part time pro-rata)
Location: Sefton, Merseyside (office based)
Office hours: 9am – 5pm
Pension: 7% (If you pay at least 1% salary contribution into the stakeholder scheme we will top this up to the required 8%)
