Debt support worker
Salary: £15,275 (actual)
Hours: 24 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed term to 21st November 2024
Annual Leave: 28 days plus Bank Holidays (part-time pro-rata)
Location: Sefton, Merseyside
Office Hours: 9am – 5pm
Pension: 7% contribution to Stakeholder Pension (with a 1% employee contribution)

The role
This role offers the unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals facing financial challenges, supporting a team of debt caseworkers working with clients providing them with the guidance, support, and tools they need to navigate complex debt issues.
To provide support to the Debt Advice Team and answer queries from clients and referral partners.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Administration
- Review and make recommendations for improvements to office services.
- Use IT for statistical recording, record keeping and document production.
- Keep up to date with policies and procedures relevant to Office work and undertake appropriate training.
- Action administration requests from Caseworkers.
Advice giving
- Interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to allow an assessment to explain their problems.
- Advising clients and third-party of the service to allow signposting/referral to appropriate services both internally and externally.
- Ensure that all activities conform to the Office Manual and any Quality Marks.
- Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of advice, information retrieval, statistical monitoring, and report preparation.
