Advice in Sefton

Our work

We helped nearly 10,000 people with more than 30,000 problems between April 2015 and March 2016.  The most common problems were to do with benefits or debt.

Our campaigning activity includes work on:

  • scam awareness
  • reasons for needing a food voucher
  • availability of childcare
  • fit for work assessments and medical evidence
  • Mandatory Reconsideration - is it fit for purpose?

We support people who are going to Tribunals, the most common reason for Tribunals over the last 12 months have been the decisions of work capability assessments about whether people are 'fit for work'

  • See the page 'Our Services' for more information on what we offer.

We are also active in a number of partnerships across Sefton, these include:

  • Sefton Council Welfare Reform and Anti-Poverty Partnership Steering Group
  • Sefton Information, Advice and Advocacy Forum
  • Sefton Health and Social Care Forum
